Everywhere you turn there is advice on relationships, marriage, dating, being single and on and on.
One person says that communication is the most important part of a relationship. Turn the channel or choose another book and you hear that while communication is important, honesty is the most vital.
You would think that within the faith based community you would find some consistency, but unfortunately even among the clergy there is great debate on what it takes to build a godly relationship. It can truly become frustrating and even overwhelming.
So, what do you?
The bottom line is this…the Word of God provides us answers to all issues of life. Yes, even about building a healthy, godly relationship.
Wait…before you tune me out, I understand that sometimes it’s hard to grasp scriptural insight on modern issues. But I promise it’s there. So basically your job is to search the scriptures so that when you hear wisdom/advice, you can decide if it fits with what you have read in the Word.
Remember: God has spoken…the rest is just commentary.
So, as you browse through Virtue Speaks’ Relationship Corner remember that scripture is THE ONLY authority that shouldn’t be questioned. At the same time remember that even God calls for His people to be accountable and to listen to sound wisdom (Prov. 11:14).
Therefore, read prayerfully and ask God to speak to you as He pleases.
